When I decided to start this blog, I wanted a place to share the many ways I have seen God’s providence woven throughout my life. Looking back, I can see moments that seem far too purposeful to be coincidence—doors that opened, doors that closed, unexpected blessings, protection I didn’t recognize at the time, and circumstances that somehow worked together in ways I never could have planned myself.

It all comes down to providence: the protective care and divine guidance of God.

I believe there is purpose in the things that happen in our lives, even when we cannot see or understand that purpose at the time.

Sometimes we plant a seed in someone’s life but never get to see it bloom. Sometimes God may be protecting us by closing a door or changing our path, and we may never fully understand why. And sometimes, we are blessed with moments so extraordinary that all we can do is recognize God’s hand in them and give Him the glory.

Through Providence, I hope to share the stories and experiences that have strengthened my faith and encouraged me to recognize God’s providential care in everyday life. I want this blog to be both a record of the providence I have experienced firsthand and a place where Scripture, personal stories, faith, and everyday life come together.

I have always jokingly said, “I’m God’s favorite.” But I only say that because I truly believe we are all God’s favorites.

So yes—I’m going to claim it!

I certainly don’t always deserve God’s favor, but I want to give Him credit for every good thing He has placed in my life. I may not always understand why things happen the way they do, but I trust that God sees what I cannot see. I believe He is working even when I don’t recognize it, and that He has a purpose and a plan for those He has called according to His purpose.

That is what Providence is about: looking back and recognizing God’s hand, trusting Him in the moments we don’t yet understand, and learning to see His faithfulness woven through the ordinary—and extraordinary—stories of our lives.
